HALLOWEEN

Subject(s): Lifestyle

lifestyle halloween dogs

We are fast approaching the night we get to dress up in scary outfits, and make it our mission to ask perfect strangers to give us candy – yes!…it’s Halloween!  And although this night can provide a lot of fun, frightening adventure (in a good way), it can prove to be a terrifying experience for your pet.

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) has posted some excellent advice to help protect your four-legged family members during all the activities which occur on Halloween.  We invite you to check out this link for their thoughtful safety tips: https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/general-pet-care/halloween-safety-tips

We would also add to the ASPCA list, the prospect of taking your dog out trick-or-treating with your little ones.  You are the best judge of whether your dog would enjoy this excursion and not be bothered by all the decorations, people, and distractions that come along with this night of ghosts and goblins. If you venture out, be sure to keep your dog on its leash throughout the evening and watch for signs of distress or fatigue.

If you happen to have a super cool costume for your pet this Halloween, please snap a picture and enter him or her into our D.O.G. Best Halloween Costume Contest.  The winners will receive D.O.G. products and bragging rights!  Please use the following link to enter your pet into our contest: https://linktr.ee/doonlygoodpetfood

We wish you and yours a great, spooky and safe Halloween!
